• May 10, Hard to believe this stone can stay put with the forces of nature being what they are...
• May 5, Second post today trying to catch up....I was shooting an equestrian event and the jumpers were going long pushing to use the last of the daylight when we were blessed with a spectacular sunset
• April 1, No foolin', the local fields are plowed and ready for spring planting
• April 22, A shot I did not think much about when taken but after learning more and more about processing one that I now enjoy...I hope you do as well. This is a sunset off Maui.
• April 25, Very rainy weekend so I had to dip into the archives and break out the photoshop
• April 29, While this may look like a California wildfire, it is actually an Indiana sunset with a lone goose taking in the sights while passing through.

Thank you all for your comments and support on yesterday's shot of the "power tower". I was just thankful (although a bit perplexed) that there was a picnic table under the tower for me to lay down on to get the shot ;-)
• April 19, A morning fog hangs over a newly plowed field. Cooler temps in recent mornings after very warm days have made this a regular occurrence.
• March 29, It finally warmed up this weekend and I think the snow may be behind us....this is a shot of a neighbor's pond from last evening
• March 30, The weather is finally nice enough for evening walks. I am not happy with the moon but didn't have much time for PP.
• March 21, After teasing us with 67 degree weather Friday it dropped to the 30's again yesterday and snowed. I needed a shot to remind me what nice weather was like.
• February 9th, Illinois is wall to wall corn for most of the year. While it makes for a boring drive it can also be very beautiful as it progresses through the growing season and changes from vivid green to amber. It took awhile but I finally found a field with an incline and the right lighting to communicate that endlessness. It also had no power lines . I tried to get DOF that would show it was corn and not wheat. I wish I had some clouds and/or more dramatic or unique sky but I'll keep trying.
• February 4, Thank you all for the comments on my last several posts...to answer some of the questions on the rider yesterday, he did not even fall of and both the horse and rider were fine. Today's post is inside Haleakala Crater on the island of Maui. My daughter and I took an equestrian excursion down into the volcano crater. I have been there several times and never seen it this clear. Normally, the clouds surround the entire area as the crater is so high. You can see the clouds below the rim in the distance. Best viewed very large.
• February 18, Illinois is fast becoming a center for wind energy. These new wind farms make for an unusual combination of traditional and futuristic. Some believe they clutter the landscape but I think they bring unusual beauty.

BTW that is heat shimmer coming off the corn on the wind turbine not a focus issue
• February 22, In honor of Washington's Birthday I have made 2 posts.
This is Mount Washington. It is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288 ft. It is famous for its dangerously erratic weather; until 1996, it held the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at the Earth's surface, at 231 mph on the afternoon of April 12, 1934. It was known as Agiocochook, or "Home of the Great Spirit", before European settlers arrived.
The mountain is located in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, in Coos County, New Hampshire. It is the third highest state high point in the eastern U.S. and the most prominent peak in the Eastern United States.
• January 17, Shot Saturday evening as dark overtook the frozen Illinois River. This is a timed exposure. It was eerie taking this shot as the river groans, creeks and pops as the ice expands
