  • Winter along the Illinois River...this guy almost looked like he was hunkered down waiting on a bus.
  • This capture was from my eagle shoot this week. Additionally I was able to pick up a Heron, yesterday's geese (thank you for all the wonderful comments), blue jays, cardinals and eagles. It was a fun day! Lighting was not what I would have wanted and I had to shoot at much higher iso that I would have preferred but I was pleased with the way my 7D performed. Still getting used to this camera but starting to settle into the groove.
  • Ever since I had an assignment in college, I have been fascinated by white on white. While I often see Canadian Geese during winter I have not seen many of these guys. They were crossing a back road I was traveling and I almost missed them against the snow. Got hundreds of shots but liked the effect the willow tree foreground added to this one.
  • With the extremely cold temperatures we have experienced lately the eagles have been very active doing lots of fishing. as a result, they have been venturing a little closer to shore for some better shooting. Now, if the lighting would just cooperate.<br /> <br /> Had to shoot this at a much higher than I wanted but was relatively pleased with the results

  • Trying to stay warm on a very cold 8 degree day...the stream was rapidly freezing around them.

  • May 6, Everybody snugged up taking a nap in the afternoon sun
  • May 6, another 2 post day...This shot just reminded me to the old "one of these things is not like the others" children's game
  • May 5, The first of 2 posts today in an effort to catch up...Caught this guy catching a quick drink in a local wetlands area
  • May 4, I was on the road visiting Pennsylvania the last 5 days so I am behind in my posts and comments. I will try to catch up over the next week or so. On returning to Illinois, we stopped at a favorite lake and wetland area and managed to catch some great light.
  • May 28, Shot with my old camera so it is not the technical quality I would like but still liked the capture.
