ccpix > January 17, Shot Saturday evening as dark overtook the frozen Illinois River. This is a timed exposure. It was eerie taking this shot as the river groans, creeks and pops as the ice expands
ccpix > January 23, Busy all weekend shooting and posting from an event my TV station held yesterday so I reached into the vault and reworked a shot of my youngest daughter Kylie with Portrait Pro.
ccpix > January 16, Went hiking today to the Ice Falls in a nearby state park. The lighting was very flat but managed to get a few decent images. The orange coloring is from the high iron content in the water.

ccpix > January 9, It was -11 degrees Saturday morning so I was not going to venture too far from the warmth of the fireplace. I did want to try to capture the stillness and depth of the extreme cold. This is the view out of the window in front of my computer. This is an HDR to try to bring out starkness of the cold against the warmth of the trees and remaining leaves.
ccpix > February 6, SP of my "ride of a lifetime" abord Andy Anderson's BAC 167 Strikemaster at the Prairie Air Show. I have had the wonderful opportunity to fly in a variety of aircraft including hot air balloons, gliders, open air cockpit vintage bi-planes but this was my first jet fighter. It was incredible.

ccpix > January 29, Another shot from my shoot last evening. The temperature was 11 Degrees and I quickly learned that 11 degrees at night is colder than 11 degrees during the day...for some reason. This image is from a waterfront park along the Illinois River. I have been waiting for the river to freeze over for some shots of river ice but up to this point it has been too warm to freeze solid. That may change over the last few days. The camera performed well in the cold...can't say the same for the photographer.
